Sarcasm Algorithm
A major development in the machine interpretation of human language is happening. Up until now sarcasm has been the bugaboo of search engines, social monitoring tools, and any other tool that analyzes UGC (user generated content). "Devised by computer scientists at The Hebrew University in Jerusalem, the algorithm has been programmed to recognize sarcasm in lengthy texts by analyzing patterns of phrases and punctuation often used to indicate irony."
