There's a new search engine that just launched and it's built by former Google employees. Supposedly it searches more than 3X as many sites as Google. I am undecided... the results seem a little iffy.
Try Cuil.

It's-about-time-inator
I, Cringley has a great article up this week that talks about Mailinator and Talkinator, two apps that perform very familiar tasks in a very unfamiliar way. They are both very exciting, and prove that even these days you can do great things on the Internet without a big wallet.

Simplest File Sharing Tool Ever!
I've just discovered Streamfile. I'm always looking for easy ways to share large files across the internet. Streamfile fits the bill to a T. Simply enter the recipients email, select the file you want to share (up to 2GB in size!) and start the upload. The service is called Streamfile because it does just that; the recipient can begin downloading the file as soon as you start uploading, no need to wait until your file has finished uploading. They even have a secure download option to keep away prying eyes. Check it out!

Where's Karl?
Backcountry.com, the same site that brings us one at a time bargains chainlove.com, whiskeymilitia.com, and steepandcheap.com are now bringing us whereskarl.com. The site is chronicling the journey of Karl Meltzer, as he attempts to RUN the entire Appalachian Trail. The brilliant part is he is doing it all with gear that can be purchased on backcountry.com. As the journey happens backcountry.com will highlight the gear he is using and provide links to the products on their site. Pretty nifty marketing ploy!
